Myoo-in (also known as Yorogataki Falls) is the site of a waterfall for ascetic practice, which was opened by a Chinese high priest in 718. Kobo Daishi is said to have undergone ascetic training here, and many practitioners still visit today. Many Buddhas are enshrined on the temple grounds, including the Five Great Wisdom Kings, and the temple is deeply revered.
