Nanzo-in is the 1st temple on the Sasaguri Shikoku Pilgrimage and is the general head temple. In return for many years of support activities, the State of Myanmar presented the temple with Buddhist relics, and to protect them, a 41-meter-long reclining Buddha statue, one of the largest in the world, was erected. It is a famous temple visited by 1.2 million people annually.
